Augment Code's next chapter

We've got big news.

Cosmos, Auggie CLI, the Code Context Engine, and related technology are joining Harness. We've agreed to sell these select assets because Harness's integrated platform delivers these capabilities to customers more effectively than building them independently. The team behind these products is moving to Harness to continue advancing them within this strategic alignment. We're joining Harness to expand the reach of our developer-focused coding capabilities and to continue working on our original mission: improving software development at scale using AI.

Why Harness?

We built Augment because enterprise development teams needed a different approach to AI-assisted coding. We saw that traditional tools treated code generation as a standalone task, but the real challenge for engineering leaders was orchestrating AI-written code across complex systems at scale - or, what we call software factories.

Orchestrating, testing, verifying, and deploying AI-generated code reliably across an entire platform is becoming a bottleneck. Every day, more teams generate more code faster than ever before, and the infrastructure to manage that pipeline has to evolve accordingly.

That's why we chose Harness. They're building the Autonomous SDLC Platform to ship AI-written code quickly, govern every pipeline, and scale AI-native development across enterprises. Our work on software factory workflows aligns directly with their vision of the future of development. Harness's scale, customer base, and platform depth enable us to deliver that future faster, and to the teams that need it most.
